Set on a lakeside in east Wichita, KS this aluminum clad pre-engineered wood structure is home to a man, his car collection and his RV. This simple, monochromatic building offers a spacious interior space for the display of a large car collection and an apartment to live in. Garage doors along the east wall open to allow air movement as well as display of the vehicles on special occasions. Atop the structure are mechanically controlled clerestory windows to ventilate the garage. The west side of this garage/residence holds the two story apartment with views across a simply landscaped yard and on to the lake.
This building has a minimalist form and color palette but plenty of texture. The exterior is skinned with three different aluminum, corrugated panel profiles.
