Expanding their home from a minuscule 930 square feet to over 6,300 square feet probably counts as new construction more than a renovation. However, that was what was needed for this blended family. Their new home is to be a modern take on the traditional farmhouse. The existing home will be remodeled into an office and a master suite for the couple. The rest of the home will include living spaces and bedrooms for their seven children. The interior will be finished with rough hewn wood beams, wood plank countertops and other traditional accents contrasting the minimalist details and color schemes of the home providing a unique traditional/modernist farmhouse.
