The Annex apartments were designed as an addition to an apartment building called The Flats 324 within an historic Wichita high school. The Flats offered great apartments but lacked a few amenities and enough apartments. The Annex was to be the solution to those needs. It would offer studio, one and two bedroom apartments with large windows, patios and a central courtyard with a swimming pool among other amenities. The Annex, being located along a different street as the historic Flats took on a modern aesthetic to blend in with its immediate neighbors. A unique feature of the project was parking. Most of the parking was located at ground level beneath the south end of the building. Two stories of apartments were located directly above the parking on a concrete deck and columns.
